BEFORE OCR
My athletic roots go deep. My dad taught me gymnastics in our backyard when I was three. By five, I was kicking and striking in Tae Kwon Do. I stuck with it until I was 10, then went all-in on gymnastics, competing through high school and into college.
But college brought a pivot. After a few gymnastics practices, I jumped ship to cheerleading. Turned out, it was a good move. Our team landed in the top 10 at Nationals in Daytona four years running. Off the mat, I dabbled in parkour, running, biking, and old-school weight training with guidance from my bodybuilder parents.
Then, in 2009, I found my obsession: obstacle racing.
AFTER OCR
OCR scratched the itch I didn’t know I had. The further I went, the harder I pushed. Death Races, ultras, you name it—I chased anything that tested grit over glamour. I completed my first Spartan Death Race in 2012. Since then, I’ve been chasing discomfort like it owes me something.
But the journey’s never been just mine.
Through coaching, speaking, writing, and podcasting, I’ve helped others find that same fire, unlocking their own buried strength and resilience. I believe the body will go further than the mind believes—if you train it, trust it, and refuse to quit.
